A step-by-step pattern that is easy to work.
The pattern includes:
Four different neckline options: An icord edging in two different widths, a ribbed edging, and a rolled edging.
Two sleeve lengths: A long sleeve and a short sleeve.
Two hem options: A straight hem and a curved hem.
The Going West pullover is worked top down in the round.
First, German shorts rows are worked together with shoulder increases to create a nice shoulder shape and a beautiful neckline.
Then the lace pattern is worked, followed by raglan increases.
The body and sleeves are divided and worked down in the round.
A twisted rib finishes the body hem, and decreases make the long sleeves nicely curved above the I-cord edging -all step by step, with illustrations and links to YouTube tutorials.
The lace pattern includes both a chart and a written chart.

The sample is shown in size 3, worn with 10” (26 cm) of positive ease. Please choose a size based on your preference for positive ease
Materials
The sample is knitted in one strand of Blue Sky Fibers, Woolstok Light, colorway Drift Wood, held with one strand of Malabrigo kid silk mohair, colorway Natural.
One strand of fingering weight held together with one strand of lace weight, or two strands of fingering weight held together = DK/light worsted weight.
Long sleeve, straight hem: Approximately (850) 950 (1000) 1100 (1150) 1200 (1300) 1400 (1450) 1550 yards or (780) 870 (920) 1000 (1500) 1100 (1200) 1300 (1330) 1420 meters of each yarn strand.
Short sleeve, straight hem: Approximately (600) 700 (750) 800 (850) 900 (1000) 1050 (1100) 1200 yards or (550) 650 (700) 750 (800) 850 (920) 960 (1000) 1100 meters of each yarn strand.
For the curved hem, add approximately: (50) 50 (50) 60 (70) 70 (80) 80 (90) 100 yards or (45) 45 (45) 55 (65) 65 (75) 75 (85) 95 meters of each yarn strand.
If changing the length, adjust the yardage amount accordingly.
Recommended Needles
US 4 (3.5 mm) and US 6 (4 mm): Circular 32” (80cm) or your preferred length for your size.
The sample is knitted using a magic loop. Some may prefer to switch to a smaller circumference needle for the neck and the sleeves. Therefore, please use your preferred needle for a small circumference.
Gauge
19 stitches x 25 rows = 4” square (10x10 cm) in Stockinette stitch, knitted in the round, on US 6 (4 mm). It is recommended to work a gauge swatch before starting and if needed, adjust needle size to obtain gauge.
Additional Tools and Materials
Stitch markers in different colors, waste yarn or stitch holder, tapestry needle, crochet hook G-6.

German Short Rows.
